~Noun- the part of speech that is used to name a person, place, thing, quality, or ideas. (Examples: person-student, place-store, thing-pencil, ideas- liberty)

~Common noun- names general items. (Examples: coffee shop, jeans, country, sandwich, and designer shoes)

~Proper noun- names specific things, require capitalization. (Examples: Star-bucks, Levi's, Australia, Whopper, and Jimmy Choo)

~Compound noun- two or more nouns combined to form a single noun. They are written as separate words (ex. grapefruit juice), as words linked by a hyphen (ex. brother-in-law), or as on word (ex. schoolteacher).
